Essence Wave Goddess

The other Trend Edition i was talking about, Wave Goddess, available at Target.  Again, beach themed, and i'm loving it.
As you can see I've bought a large amount of the collection.  It is all just so pretty, and colours/products that don't come up regularly.
2in1 eyeliners in 01 Life is better when you surf and 02 Have a break, or two.

These are double ended, both thick and thin.  01 is a lovely royal-ish blue, 02 is a lighter blue (but is powdery-looking).  01 won't budge no matter what you do (it stains).
Nail Polishes in 01 Loose your heart on the board and 02 Wave down the lime

These come with little rings (the bands around the lids, they fit Miss A's thumbs perfectly).  01 is a hot pink creme, 02 has a silver shimmer through it.
Tinted Lip Balm in 01 Loose your heart in the board

This is nicely tinted and smells like blackberries (like most of Essence's lip products).
Soft Touch Eyeshadows in 01 Have a break, 02 Crush on blue and 03 Stand up and paddle!

I saved the best til last.  Essence's soft touch eyeshadows are amazing, unfortunately there are none in the normal range, so when they come out as part of a Trend Edition you grab what you can.  01 is a pretty sky blue, 02 a royal blue and 03 a pale powder blue that looks silver.  They are beautiful, they go on like a dream, and are all sparkly.
eyeshadows 02, 01, 03; eyeliners 02, 01; tinted lip balm
Grab it whilst you can!

Memebox Jewel Tones

Morning!

The day i received my Beauty 911 box, i also received a box i had preordered, the Colorbox #5 Jewel Tones.  Memebox released 3 boxes at the same time, Jewel Tones, Pastels and Brights, they're all makeup boxes, and supposedly fit the theme (although i'll let you make up your mind about this one, i was expecting something different).

1.Color World Multi Lovely Finger Mousse Lip-$20
This is a what i would call a liquid lipstick, and i would compare it to the Klara Kiss Proof Lips (right down to texture and the fact that neither are budge proof).  This is a gorgeous colour, and feels lovely on, but it slips and slides all over the place.  A little goes a long way, but be careful when wearing it.

2.Color World Star Powder-$14
Star powders are a shimmer powder, supposedly as an all over powder (although i don't know how you would use it all over without looking like a Cullen knockoff).  It is beautifully milled, feels lovely on, blends nicely, and i think would make a lovely eyeshadow.  No sifter, though, making it hard to use.

3. Color World Kiss The Beads Lip Gloss-$18
What is with the names of some Korean products?  This is a nice, light lipgloss, non sticky and very moisturising.  It gives a nice wash of colour, but nothing too serious.

4. Color World Jewelish Stick Shadow-$13
This is a pretty silver stick eyeshadow, goes on smoothly and is easy to use.
Lip Mousse, Star Powder, Lip Gloss, Shadow Stick
As you can see, all 4 products were from the same brand (each of these colour boxes were the same, the entire box was made up of one brand), and whilst they're lovely products i don't think they match the theme of the box.  The card goes on about wine reds, purples, emeralds etc, not 1 product matches that description, so i found the box slightly disappointing.  However i'll use it all, so it isn't a complete failure.

Box is worth $65 USD, i paid $17 USD all up (including postage).

Essence Beach Cruisers

There are some new Essence Trend Editions in town!  The Priceline one is called Beach Cruisers (both are beach themed).  As you can see from the photo above, it has some lovely products!
I picked up the Body Spray and 2 of the nail polishes.  The body spray smells like summer, mangoes and sun tan lotion, and coconut, and the ocean, and i love it!  I grew up next to the sea, and this smells amazing.

The nail polishes are all sand effect, so are textured.  I got 02 Girls Just Want To Have Sun! and 03 Keep Calm And Go To The Beach!.
03 Keep Calm And Go To The Beach!
All up it's a lovely collection, perfect for an Aussie Summer!

Memebox Beauty 911

Morning all!

I'm so sorry about the lack of posts, I got a new camera for christmas, but it takes a microSD card, and finding an adapter has taken forever.  But i have 1 finally!

Memebox has been a bit quiet lately, they re-released a tonne of boxes in Dec, and i ordered one!  It's so much easier ordering boxes that have been restocked, you can hunt around for reviews and choose one that suits you.
This is the Memebox Special #58 Beauty 911, which contains 6 full sized products.

1. Yadah Anti-T spot cream-$15
This helps with red spots, blemishes, tightens pores etc.  It has cactus (???), green tea, rosemary, aloe vera and sage, and is free of a lot of nasties.  I haven't tried this out yet, in the 2 weeks i've had the box i haven't needed it, so i can't tell you much else, although all the reviews i've read are postive.

2. Neogen Miracle Lighting eye Lifter-$30
So far from my use of this i haven't noticed any difference, although if i used it regularly it might make a difference.  This is a rollerball that addresses all aging eye care concerns (i must admit the 1 place i'm starting to notice changes is around my eyes).  I'll be happy if it deals with the dark circles that come with a restless sleeper (must use this more!).

3. Mise En Scene Perfect Repair-$16
This has argan, camellia, olive, jojoba, coconut, apricot and marula oils to give your hair a well nourished finish.  I like the finish it gives, it's non-greasy and makes my hair look lovely.  However i haven't found it to be all that moisturising, so if you're looking for extra moisture you're going to need a separate product.

4. Vella blind Sun Stick Protector SPF50+-$18

This is supposed to make your skin soft and matte, which makes it the perfect facial sunscreen.  I'm not out in the sun that much (i burn too easily), but there are times when i'm out with the kids and this will come in handy then.

5. Shara Shara Bee Tox Toner-$19
This was the main reason i ordered this box, i was almost completely out of toner.  This helps control oil and clear blemishes.  It's lovely to use, smells nice and doesn't react with my skin (i was slightly concerned with it having bee venom extracts), plus it's a massive bottle so will last a while.

6. Cheek Room Lip Balm-$12
I don't get the hate for Cheek Room, i've quite liked the products i've tried.  This is a basic lip balm, it's slightly sticky, but is very moisturising and smells yummy.  It has olive oil, shea butter and jojoba oil to help moisturise dry lips.

All up the box is worth $110 USD, and i think i paid around $25 USD (i had some points and a code), and i'll use everything in the box.

Have you received a Memebox lately?  And how was your Christmas?

Violet Box December 2014

Morning!

It's coming to the end of a year of boxes!  I have 2 memeboxes on their way to me, but the arrival of my Dec VB marks the end of my subscriptions for the year.  Dec's VB rocked up 2 weeks after my Nov box, just in time for Christmas.
Coastal Scents Go Palette-rrp $16.95-full size

The sneak peek for the month.  Mine's in Cairo, a mix of bronzes, golds and browns (the other option was Beijing).  This is lovely, the packaging feels nice, and they are mostly highly pigmented (a couple of the matte shades aren't the best).  Each pan is tiny, though, but it's a nice way to get a feel for the brand.
Mellow Cosmetics Gel liner-rrp $10-full size

I swatched this thinking i wasn't all that impressed, but it is lovely.  It goes on so smoothly, is highly pigmented, and doesn't come back off in a hurry (i had to scrub the swatch off with a baby wipe, and you can still see traces of it).  The brush that comes with it isn't the best, but that is easily remedied, and this little pot will last for ages.
Naobay Oxygenating Cream Moisturiser-rrp $69-sample size

I wasn't that excited when i saw this, however the sample is 30ml.  Full size is 50ml, making this sample the most expensive item in the box (is it just me, or is it slightly sad when a sample is worth more than anything in a sample box.  Actually this sample is almost worth as much as the other 4 items combined).  It sounds interesting, it claims to double as a makeup base, and suits all skin types.
Designer Brands Lashes-rrp $8.99-full size

More DB!  Gah!  Anyway i've never used false lashes, i might have to change that.  These are latex free, and come with a preglued lash strip (which has people excited?)
Lonvitalite 24K Active Gold Yulan Oil Face Mask-rrp $9.95-full size

I think this has now made the rounds of all the boxes, i already have this in my mask collection (plus the matching eye masks) from LHI.

All in all it isn't the most exciting box i've received from VB, however it will all get used eventually.

Have you received yours yet?

Redpawpaw December 2014

Morning Lovelies!

My RPP box rocked up on Tuesday, about 10 minutes before my parents, so i'm a bit late posting this (sorry).  It's another excellent box, although not the slightest bit christmas-y (which is a shame).
Seven Sundays Nutty Muesli-$6.92
Up and Go-$1.64
Be Natural Nut Delight-$5.67
Praise zero fat dressing-$3.29
Snapple-$2.96
IXL jam-$3.29
French's Yellow Mustard-$2.92
Tim Tam Salted Caramel-$2.08 (x2)
Mount Franklin Lightly Sparkling-$1.65 (x2)

Total=$34.15

All in all it isn't the most expensive RPP known to mankind, however we will use everything in this box (and already have had a few of the things).

What do you think?

Violet Box November 2014

Morning lovelies!

November's VB is finally in my hands!  They had a delay on a product rocking up, so shipping was delayed.  However they kept us in the loop, and it's here.
Plus a sneak peek for next month
For some reason i have been sent 2 boxes, and am waiting on VB to get back to me about it (i mean, i'll happily accept a second box, and pass on what i don't want, but from the sounds of it i'm not the only one who has received a spare box/free box, but i'm the only one to post anything about it on their wall so far.  If it happens to you please let VB know, they aren't rightfully ours, and VB are the best monthly on the aussie market.  Be honest, and hopefully VB will stick around for a while yet).
Bloom Boost Lip Balm Stick-$6.95-full size

These are in popular Boost juice flavours, and what would you know, Watermelon Crushes are one of my very favourites (It comes a very close second to Lemon Crushes)!  Yay!!  These are lovely on, they feel very buttery and smell delicious.  They contain beeswax, jojoba seed oil and vit e (amongst other things) and are free of nasties.  Plus they're huge and will last quite a while.
'Tini Beauty Eyetine Eye Cordial Eyeshadow+Base ($23) and Swizzle Stick Eyeliner ($23)-full size

My eyeshadow is in Ambrosia and eyeliner in Cognac.  Both apply very smoothly, the eyeshadow especially.  The Ambrosia is a gorgeous purply colour, Cognac is a bronze.  Neither are smudge proof, the eyeliner smudges extremely easily, while the shadow partially stays put (gives you some blending room, i suppose).  Neither live up to the companies claims on my hand, though, so i would be very surprised if they do on my eyes.  Still, they are both very pretty, and will be used.
Colour by TBN Magnetic Nail Polish-$7.99-full size

Mine's a nice silver (not that the photo shows that, sorry).  I thought this trend was over, though?  The nail polish stinks, it really does.  But it has great coverage and is easy to use.
Clarisea Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliant-$18-sample? size

I think this is a sample, however it is quite big for a sample, and will last ages.  This is a powder you add water to, and is supposed to help detox your skin, draw out oil and impurities, whilst helping to kill of acne causing bacteria.  I can't wait to try this!
Z'kin organics sample set

Cleansing gel, Lotion and Serum samples.  They sound interesting, but feel like they only contain enough for 1 use each.   I really don't egt what companies think samples like this do, they only thing it's going to tell me is whether i have a reaction to the products or not, is isn't enough for anything else, and they aren't the cheapest products around.
Ambrosia and Cognac
All in all it was a good box, plenty of new brands and some really nice products.  Bring on the Dec box!
